What is Bimax or double jaw surgery?
Bimax means both upper and lower jaw surgery in the same operation. This is the most common surgery we perform. The aim is to reposition both upper and lower jaws in the ideal position in relation to your skull and face. It is life changing as it not only enhances your facial appearance, but it functionally improves your bite meaning biting and chewing are better. It improves your airway and breathing, often eliminating snoring and sleep apnoea.
Although it is major surgery, with our cutting edge surgical techniques it can take as little as 2 hours under general anaesthetic. Patients usually go home the following day after surgery.
